Context

The project has taken its name from the first female president of Iceland – a world first even. Vigdís Finnbogadóttir also studied foreign languages. One of the themes she returns to is how knowledge of other languages can build bridges, something we have used as an inspiration for the project.

Concept

By answering the following questions; what is environmentally friendly architecture, why should we be conscious about energy and resources and how is sustainable architecture experienced, Lendager Arkitekter has attempted to combine a museum, classrooms, offices, a café, parking and an urban feeling into one environmentally friendly building.
