Resource Rows 2

Residential project constructed of materials from demolished buildings

What if we could take our buildings with us when moving from the countryside to the city? Imagine dismantling structures into reusable building blocks, ready to be repurposed for the ever-growing urban landscape.

Resource Rows is the world’s first residential project constructed of materials from demolished buildings.

Through analyses and collaborations both inside and outside the construction industry, Lendager has identified potentials for tapping into waste streams that can be proces¬sed into valuable building materials to reduce the construction’s environmental impact.

Resource efficiency and creative answers to mate¬rial constraints has been the catalyst for the design of the architecture, and several new material innovations were developed.

Most prominently, old facades from cement-mortar brick facades have been cut out and reassembled into new facade modules, and allot¬ment garden houses built from waste materials placed on the roofs.

Waste wood from the metro construction is used on the façade and offcuts and faulty production from floor production that would otherwise have to be incinerated have become new floors.
