UN17 Village
Based on the principles of 17 UN SDGs
UN 17 Village is a unique place. Firstly in a historical sense as the most southern and final part of the 25 year development of the Ørestad area in Copenhagen. Today, around 10,000 people live in Ørestad, in 10-15 years 25,000 people will live here – and in the future, 60,000-80,000 people will work here. Secondly in the physical sense with its magnificent location right next to Amager Fælled, an enourmous nature area towards Øresund with a rare flora and fauna.
Our vision takes its point of departure in the human scale and senses, as well as in human relations and communities. The focus is on creating a good coherence between the neighborhood and Amager Fælled and the result is a project about a ’village’, where you an easily get to know each other, be private and feel comfortable.

‘Here we have a project that is more than a residential development: it is a manifesto for how the construction of the future can be conceived and realized, if one dares to let architecture grapple with all 17 of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.’
